We purchased a brand new home in Arizona about 8 years ago. All the homes in our neighborhood were built 2 years prior to us....so our remained an empty lot for the 2 year period. The current termite company that we are using was the same company who did the initial treatment of soil before the foundation was laid. I personally feel that this step was overlooked, perhaps they they thought they did it 2 years prior when they originally did the other lots but I truly feel in my heart that this was not case because they knew this lot was not going to built on. The first out break we noticed was scary....it looked as if there were branches growing out of the walls of our spare bedroom....huge mud tubes everywhere. We were still under warranty, so they came and aggressively treated with termidor. We were near the end of our initial 5 year warranty so we signed another 5 year contract which is due to expire in a few months. They have been treating this home for over 6 years. Every time we see mud tubes on the inside of our home...we call they fill the area with termidor. Let me mention that this is our "vacation" home, and we visit perhaps twice a month and stay for a few days at a time. My question is after 6 years of aggressively treating with termidor, should we still be having termite activity and mud tubes around the inside of the home. FYI...they have drilled holes on the floors, walls, treated areas where there are water or foundation openings. Please I don't know what we are dealing with...even the company seems surprised that they are not gone. Will they every be completely eliminated? Once effective treatment is done, will they be gone? Desperate....please help!
