hi there, We have carpet beetles - the Larder Beetle and maybe another variety, I've found a couple that look different, with spots on the back and smaller. I've seen a few of them each year in our house, but never seen larvae. This last week, we've had 1 or 2 larvae in nearly every room and I uncovered a couple of nests that were in spilled dog food (10-20 larvae at each spot) I've been vacuuming and mopping and cleaning and inspecting every single toy bin, basket, closet, etc... have cleaned under furniture and gone through my kitchen. We have concrete and cork flooring. I'm still finding at least one larvae (big) each day and have discovered a few adult bugs today (I'm looking very hard all the time for them.) I'm wondering if I've got a big problem on my hands, or if I maintain this cleaning daily and obsessively if I can handle it myself and I'll eventually be rid of them. We have a big house (2800 sq. ft), it's newly built and a wood structure, but we did have mice in the basement when we first moved in... should I be calling a local pest guy asap??
