"Water bugs" are not American roaches, water bugs are oriental roaches. And BB roaches are not that prolific - German roaches are. The exterminators might be confused (both of them) and might be using the wrong names.

Regardless, any single family home can be roach-free with the cooperation of the exterminator and the people that live there. It is NOT a one-shot deal, however. It takes several visits to end the problem.

Can't guide you on the move in, move out deal, it depends on how much you like the house and neighborhood. And, of course, be aware that if you do move out, you could move into another one with the same (or worse) problem.

German roaches take the longest, BB roaches take the shortest. Both American and oriental roaches can live outside, while the Germans are vectored in by man - they don't live outside.

Hope this helps...

---John
