I can see your picture, it really doesn't look like any dropping I've seen, and the fact that you've seen them "all over" means that it's probably not a bug - unless you have them "all over," which is doubtable - since you say you haven't seen any.
Doesn't look like mouse droppings, and they are "soft" for awhile, a week or two at least.
Some roaches (BIG ones - American & Oriental - have large droppings, but these don't look like your picture either.
Try leaving a small cracker next to a wall, smeared with a tiny bit of peanut butter and see what happens. A larger animal will eat or remove it, bugs will just try to eat it in place. Maybe place a glueboard a foot or two away, next to the wall and see what (if anything) you catch.
In an apartment, small animals can easily get from one apartment to another. Any neighbors with strange small pets?
