Flies is a sign that "organic" material is rotting. That usually means something is dead.

If you can't find and remove their bodies, you'll have to wait until your flies are gone. Which, thankfully, is usually only a few days, usually less than a week.

After that, the flies will end. If it's in the basement, leave a light on, 24/7 and that will tend to keep most of the flies down there. You can sweep them up every day and you'll see how they taper off.

No insecticides are needed, this would happen in spite of what insecticide(s) you may use.

In other words, don't worry about it! :)
