Isolated the sewer flies are coming only from two floor drains in our basement laundry room. Haven't noticed any coming from our upstairs plumbing.
I'm able to cover one of the floor drains with a glass and looked down with a flashlight tonight. I noticed white thick liquid (I assume from all the Gentrol sprayed past few weeks) and a dead sewer flies floating at the bottom of the drain.
We did redo our basement this winter. The contractor said he ran drain tiles in the basement floor into one of the floor drains instead of a separate sump pit to help with water seepage. I could see this being an issue if sewer flies were only coming from this drain, but the drain with the most problems is 6 feet away without any water feeding into it.
Should I try liquid Gentrol through both drains? I would hate to go the jackhammer route if possible.
