I have been told by my pest control people that I have flying squirrels in my attic. They are apparently coming through the gap between the roof and the fascia board that the gutters are attached to.
I plan to put screening up and have a couple of questions:
1. how small an opening can they squeeze through? I am concerned that if the mesh is too light weight, that the squirrel will chew through it.
I was looking at wire mesh that has a 1/2 by 1/2" square opening and uses 19 gauge wire. I would assume that the gauge is heavy enough, but will the openings be too large?
2. I plan to trap them and relocate...how far away should I go to ensure they do not return?
