Hello, I am trying to catch a squirrel or two that have been plaguing me all winter. I decided to move my trap from the attic to the backyard. I placed my trap on a table so that it will not be disturbed by a dog or cat and left a chair next to the table, so that squirrels can easily access it. I tried to leave a chum trail made of mixed nuts from the ground to the seat of chair to the table. However, the chum trail is being eaten by birds, so I need a squirrel-only alternative bait. Oh yeah, the bait inside the trap is a peanut butter covered brownie surrounded by mixed nuts, with three small lines of whip cream. I am hoping the squirrels alone will be attracted by the smell of the brownie and soon-to-be rancid small of the whip cream lines, but in two doors nothing has happened. The wind has been blowing like crazy here in Atlanta, so I know the smell is lingering in the air.
