I bought a trap at my local Harbor freight store. I payed $10 but their going on sale for $6 next week.
Its is not stainless steel, its galvanized. Theres not a pan iether you put the food on a hanging hook which the squirrel hits.
I spray painted my trap brown so it wasnt as noticeable. I put out some broken peanut butter crackers for the last few days and each time they disapeared, saturday morning i was home so i set out the trap behind some of my stuff. I hung a peanut butter cracker smeared with more peanut butter on the back hanging hook and smeared a little peanut butter on the entrence to the trap.
Within an hour i had a big squirrel.
The center handle was folded on top of the cage and the squirrel was climbing and clawing at the top so i grabbed and picked it up by that really tall door loop thats above the closed door. The spring was knocked off and when i picked it up by the door loop it swung and the clips/latches below the cage let go and it opened and the squirrel jumped out.
I should have clamped the door securely closed with my HF mini vise grips before picking the trap up that way lol.
The traps definitly work.
