Hi,

I've had a squirrel in the house for about three weeks. I'm pretty sure I've confined the critter to one of the basement (celler) rooms that has a window leading to the outside.

I've tried unsccessfully to trap the squirel using havahart traps (including the 1040 model). Despite trolling with chum initially, I've had no success.

If I opened the basement wimdow and left it open, is there a possibility the squirrel would take off, out the open window. I also have a socialized feral cat that spends time in the house and could be kept in and, (I hope) act as a deterrent against the squirrel (or its kin) coming into the basement.

I'd be grateful for any comment on this idea, or other suggestions and look forward to the day I'll be rid of the critter.
Frank
