I believe this critter got in before I had some house repairs done. With all the banging done, you'd think it would head for the hills and get out! After house repairs were finished, my daughter on a smoke break outside heard some scratching from within. I don't believe it will be able to escape so if it dies and starts to decompose with maggots, will the maggots turn into termites and create yet another horrible problem?
