I know they are new squirrels as the 15 I captured last fall/winter were executed. But it has been about 3 months since my last squirrel experience and I'm back at it again. Just the other week, I got my mail and did a walk around my house and I saw a racket-ball sized hole in the corner soffit of my attic. Bummer! Sure enough within the next couple days I started hearing *scamper-scamper* across my 2nd-floor ceilings. Put the cage out Friday, still haven't caught anything. They obviously smell their way to my attic. Is there anything I can do (or put up there) that will mask the smell or remove the smell? I was told soaking a towel in acetone and putting it at the far corners of the attic can help...
Any suggestions? I know my best way to fix the problem is remove the trees closest to my house - and that will happen, but it's going to cost some money!
