So I see ... that maybe I should have posted more information.

I have 2 traps that are 1030 are 2 that are 1062. On the 1062 I only leave 1 door open.

For the 1030 with both doors open ...
I smear the trip plate with peanut butter and press down hard with bird food so the squirrels really need to dig the bird food pieces out.

For the 1062 with only 1 door open ...
I am baiting the trip plate with a little bit of peanut butter and a piece of a smashed cracker. I put cracker with peanut butter, bird seed and squirrel food (dried corn, peanuts and sun flower seeds) at the back of the cage.
