We have had squirrels in my chimney for a few months. I rent my home and there is no way that I can place a cap on it myself. Anyway I opened the door to the basement and there was a grey/black squirrel on my steps. My dad insists that it did not get in thru the chimney. I did some looking around and there is a heating duct that is not sealed off. its like they didnt finish the job. I was thinking that is how it got in the basement but I wanted to verify with you that it is a possibility. Thank you.
