Well, if you trap in the attic, you'll only get the ones that are coming inside... That's certainly better than catching a lot of innocent bystanders.

During your trapping efforts you are likely to find out entrance points. Plop yourself in a lawn chair outside, away from their personal space and just watch. So much of this is just pure detective work.
