A few? With that many trees, there should be more. Besides the fact that you have them inside, that generally means there are "too many."

Not sure why you are having trouble with the squirrels, not all of them would be trap-shy anyway.

Bring the birds down. The squirrels will follow the birds, so if you can attract the birds, you will attract the squirrels. And how you disguise the trap is up to you, these are suggestions. Use your imagination.
