I am aware of the kill traps, there are several, and I have used them in certain situations. It does eliminate one step, however, but I prefer to use (and recommend) live traps. Squirrels are just so easy to trap, and if you have a reason for not putting down something you caught, squirrel or not, there is always that choice available.

Frankly, I don't think it makes a whole lot of difference, if the animal you kill is a squirrel, it's not like they're endangered or anything.... But be aware that you'll likely take a hit from the PETA girls, should they find out, they don't like ANYTHING killed. These traps especially, should be kept out of the public eye. Actually, they all should.

I haven't heard of the squirrel tail deal, and I don't do a whole lot of squirrel jobs anymore, I just TELL people how to do it! LOL I will mention it to a couple of friends that do. I'll put it in the links section on my squirrel trapping page on the next update. Thanks for the link!
