It's been a few weeks since I found the entry point and blocked it off. I've been trapping most every day with no luck. This Sunday morning, I watched one (of 4 scampering in the back yard) eating the chum, but he never went in the trap.

This morning it was cold and raining. As I was backing out of the driveway, I looked toward the entry point above the front porch and saw something. I stopped and ran over, and there were TWO squirrel tails hanging out over the gutter. I yelled, and they looked at me then scampered across the roof to the back yard. They were trying to chew through the vinyl eave right above the sealed-off entry point. They had already started chewing through in a couple of places, but only about a quarter-sized spot.

I placed a trap by there (my traps scare all squirrels away) and went to work. I came home at lunch and did a hack job with some hardware cloth to cover the whole section.

Uggh. I'm seriously considering a pellet rifle to supplement my eradication efforts.
