Well, actually, the traps are your best bet. Get together a "group" of trash cans and make sure there's some bird seed scattered about. Within your grouping of trash cans you set your trap up. We use this trick all the time to disguise our trapset and hide it from the public.

Squirrels just LOVE trash cans....
