A few days ago, a squirrel fell down the chimney into the house. I thought it had escaped through an open window, but I saw it in the hall this morning. The squirrel doesn't freak out when it sees me but seems to be well hid when not strolling around. It's a lot colder outside than inside, so maybe the critter thinks it's in Florida. I just bought a Havahart 1030 trap, which is all I could find locally. How important is it to chum the trap before setting it? I really want this squirrel GONE, but I don't want to make it trap shy. If the trap doesn't work, what's a good Plan B? Are there squirrel exterminators with dogs that can come around to both find and remove a vacationing squirrel?
