Lesson learned... always have a printed copy from Thomas D. Sutter (Principal Fish & Wildlife Technician - NYS Dept of Environmental Conservation, Wildlife Service Unit) stating the following:
"This email is in response to your recent email asking about nuisance squirrels.
The short answer is that you are allowed to catch and remove all squirrels from your attic at any time and you do not need a permit. You are allowed to either release these squirrels onto your own property or destroy them. They cannot be transported off of your property to be released elsewhere."
If you don't like me drowning squirrels - don't look out the window.
