Kate, there's not a whole lot you can do about that, there's nothing that's gonna "deter" them, unless you begin a trapping campaign. Maybe if you were to thin out the surrounding population, you might help, but I really can't recommend that unless it's REALLY a problem.

But that, of course, is up to you, and the reason that everybody's tolerance level is different, for different reasons - as per RexJ. That's your decision to make, but that's what you'd have to do.
