John,

Just to follow up on your theory regarding a "familial" thing, when it comes to squirrels returning to former residences; that is, birth places, et al. As I stated in a previous post I travelled a lot for business, so I was unaware of the fact that squirrels had overtaken my attic. I only became aware of that fact, when I left that job for one closer to home. Since that time (over 2 years), I have trapped and put down over 50 squirrels, all of whom had decided to live in my attic. About 3 months ago, I heard commotion in the attic, set traps outside, and nailed 2 tree rats. Since that time, I have not seen or heard a squirrel on my property. As a result, I believe that you are on to something with your "familial" theory. I truly think that the squirrels I have been catching and killing are all related, and that some 'natural' memory chip brings them back to their place of birth, and/or past dwelling place. I may in fact have wiped out the entire damn family! I hope I didnít just jinx myself by this post?
Thanks for your help and advice over the years,
Yank
