I have a stone front house and the squirrels keep chewing the trim at the peak of the gable to get in behind the stone. OUR HOME IS ONLY 5 YEARS OLD.We have repaired the hole that gave them access to our attic, found 3 dead, and haven't had one in the attic since. They do however keep chewing the the trim at the peak . We have had someone stuff the area with copper mesh ....but now they are pulling the copper mesh out and continuing to chew. We have had 3 different people try and resolve this problem. No luck. I don't know what I can use to fill in the gap between the trim boards and the stone because it's an uneven surface area. Is there some kind of caul that would work ?
Also I have one tree at the corner of the house that gives them access to the roof. Should I take it down.
