It's been almost four days since I've seen any signs of the squirrel in my basement. I have two Havahart traps, chum, a basket of pine cones, and a potted plant (thanks for the tip!) in the basement and a trap and some chum on the first floor. I have a ranch house. Nothing's disturbed, chewed, soiled, or pooped on. The traps are empty. I imagine he'd be pretty hungry by now.
I used all the tips I found on your website (leaving windows open, etc.) and am getting my chimney capped AND my dryer vent replaced - I noticed the trap door was loose.
Is it safe to assume he's moved on?
PS- You have a great web site here and it's good to know this information exists when you need it.
