For about the last 2 weeks we have been hearing noises in the attic here in North Carolina when we are in bed at night. We never seem to hear them during the day, but I suppose that could be because of the air conditioning unit running while it's hotter out. We don't hear footsteps. . . what we hear is the sound of boxes and things being bumped into. Today I bought a Havahart Model #1030 at Home Depot, adjusted it so it would trigger easily, and baited it with peanut butter. It was wobbly, so I propped one corner of it with a folded-up paper towel to make it steady. Does this sound likely to be squirrels?
