Anyway, a glueboard will do nothing for a squirrel... Or anything larger than a chipmunk.

And most small rodents can move food around like that, but chippies are known for it.

Difficult to make most Safeguard traps more sensitive, but bait it up and leave it closed, see if whatever it is can get in.
