Previous owners did not believe in cleaning out the gutters, and the fascia and soffit eventually rotted. Last week an enterprising gray squirrel took advantage of the situation and enlarged an already large opening, then made itself at home in my attic.

I have aspegers and am very sensitive to noise, and the squirrel caused me to miss a day of work from lack of sleep.

I boarded up all the possible entry/exit points, and sprayed some homemade pepper spray in the area above my room (where it seemed to enjoy scratching in the dawn/dusk). That worked for two days now it is back in the same area.

It is driving me crazy.

I've sat for hours in my attic with a light and a pellet gun. I saw its gray fluffy tail once, but no more of its body or I'd have shot it.

I've tried Have a heat traps in my garden (which they have eaten to the nubs the last two years). They just reach through and get the goodies or when I attach a bowl to the cage they don't go in. Not sure why they are trap shy.

Anyway. How much longer can this damn squirrel last without water?
