I have squirrels in my chimney - The original squirrel squeezed thru the shoot & got into the attic - he/she was removed from the fireplace after falling down the shoot & got a little bloody (scent?)in the process - I had a chimney sweep re-close off the top flew, tied with wire (i couldn't do it as I have a 2story house and the chimney top is approx 10 feet above the roof it rests against - my ladder can't reach). A day after he left, other squirrels came - for 2 weeks, they've been up at the top, for hours each day, tampering with the wiring - I can't see them from outside but hear them for a few hours each day - usually 8-10am then again around 10-12midnight - I think they must be making progress or I would assume they would eventually stop but, they don't seem to be inside yet as I only hear them at the top, screwing with metal. I want to cut them off before they get in and damage the inside. How can I keep them from trying to enter? I've read both sides that mint, alcohol, etc... does and does not work - not sure what to believe. I'm ready for more drastic measures - I've heard about poision that they eat, that kills them when they eat but can't find it on the web - I want them gone! Please advise.
