They blocked off entry points without trapping the squirrels, locking them INSIDE? That was really smart....

And squirrels can't chew thru REAL HW cloth. They obviously used used the cheap stuff you get at Home Depot. You can cut that stuff with SCISSORS. Get heavy duty HW cloth at your neighborhood hardware store.

TRap the squirrels first, put each and every one down, then patch the entry points with the good stuff until you're sure you have all of them, then, in a few months fix all the places the RIGHT way.
