She definitely NOT a 'woman of means.' And she refused to take the money back, besides my hands were full - one hand with a baby squirrel and the other with an animal net and a snare pole. But I'm sure she could afford the 20 dollars, I didn't want to insult her by giving it back, she's a very proud black lady, lived in the neighborhood for many years.
As far as your Einstein is concerned, set up the trap on a piece of plywood or something. You might also be able to use a carpet remnant.
Before you actually use the remnant or the plywood, leave it out, close to the trap, so he gets used to it. Leave a small bit of chum on it.
You can also leave the trap with NO bait in it. Make him look for it - I catch LOTS of squirrels in unbaited traps!
