I live in SW Colorado on about 3 country acres and have several ground squirrels residing close to my home (within about 20 yards). My spouse is totally against my trapping and killing them but my fear is that the population will continue to grow over the next several years to the point where removing them all will be a huge effort.

There has been no home invasion or other issues so far but I am worried that the population will increase and put more pressure on them which will lead to issues.

Should I act now? Any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks
