Thanks, John. I thought the nests were where they overwintered since I've seen squirrels visiting them recently. Thought they were laying in supplies :)
I'm semi-retired and I keep 2 1040's running from spring through fall to keep the pressure off the house. We've had them in the attic twice and I'd rather not deal with that a third time. I think the squirrels are just starting to return to their former numbers since Hurricane Sandy took down more than a dozen trees on our block, mostly big, old Maples. Didn't trap many the spring after that, but this year the trees are fuller than they've ever been with nests and my traps were snapping from the first day I had them out.
