You did good, Colleen. If he had an hour or two of daylight, he probably went out. And he would probably go out before he went into a trap.

Open the window this morning, keep the BR door CLOSED. Then, about noontime, close the window again, put a little (not much) of peanut butter bread on that windowsill (NO WATER) and check it the next morning. If it went untouched, he probably went out.

They will jump from the window, they are not afraid of heights. I've seen them jump to the ground from over 40 feet high, land easily and run away.

Keep the PB bread on the windowsill for a day or two just to be sure!
