I have a squirrel or several squirrels that have been living in the walls of the third floor of my house (used to be the attic). The squirrel enters through a hole near the metal drain pipe. I have put a have-a-heart trap baited with peanut butter on the roof near where the squirrel gets in and out of the house. The trap sits for hours untouched and then eventually, the tray will be completely clean. Is the squirrel going in and eating the peanut butter or is something else eating it? Should I put the trap in the yard (we've seen him in the tree in our backyard).
