Once they figure out they can easily go through standard insect screening, you're essentially out of luck.

You would need to put up half inch hardware cloth in FRONT of the insect screening, otherwise, without the insect screening, the insects will come straight through.

Hardware cloth is made out of galvanized steel, they can chew through anything less.
