It's been a quiet couple of years since squirrels caused havoc in my attic. I had good success trapping them with help from this site. No more intruders, but I continued to trap a few per year that get too comfy around the structure.

This summer and fall I have been overrun and the trapping was not working well. I only trapped one all summer. So I bought a Gamo pellet gun a couple of weeks ago. 14 kills in two weeks right around my house. That ought to thin out the population for a while.

Anyway, my point is that depending on your location and situation, a pellet gun may be a good compliment to trapping if you're having squirrel control problems.
