I live in the Midwest, and have a squirrel trying to gain attic entry through a screened Soffit. The screened Soffit is in tact. However, it is directly over the downspout's curve at the roof line. The squirrel sits in the curve of the downspout and can reach the screened Soffit opening. Poor structural design, I know. Just a matter of time before I hear the pitter patter of squirrel feet in my attic. Need advice. Is there any kind of cut to length peel and stick spike strip that I can adhere to the inside of the downspout curve to make it impossible (not a word that can be used with squirrels)or, more realistically, uncomfortable for the squirrel to sit in this spot and make future home plans? I have eight corner downspouts, and all have this potential for squirrel attic entry. Love the little fellows: cute, very smart with a good memory. A real pain to a homeowner, however. Awesome website. You have a vast knowledge of these little guys. Hope that you can help. P.S. Bought two squirrel nest boxes and put in the trees at the back of my property over two and a half years ago. Solved the problem until now. Thanks for your help!
