I see a spot where the lovely little creatures menacing me for 5 years now (on and off) chewed at a dozen spots of wire that runs about 18 feet. I was thinking of turning the entire house electrical off and cutting that section out and replacing with metal shielded wire. Sound good?

Also, with free access in the attic, is it unlikely that they have attacked the wall wire? If they have attacked the wall wire, since sheet rock is not going to light on fire with a spark, is it unlikely a fire could trigger there? I already made sure there's nothing near the length of wire that has been chewed. I was going to use electrical tape first, as my attic is burning hot with 95 degrees outside. Plus it could tell me if any are up there now if I check every few days.

Thanks
