New problem at a different residence. I have had a 1040 trap in an area that the squirrel is visiting and it has been able to take the bait from beyond the trip plate. I do have one end closed to force it to pass over the plate, but it has as yet set the trap off. But it is eating well. I tried attaching a peanut in the shell coated with peanut butter to the trip plate and its was able to eat the peanut without tripping the trap. Any advise?
