I've discovered termites in the east side wall of a home I recently purchased. The home is a fixer upper and has foundation problems. The slab foundation has dropped around the perimeter so piers will be installed around the whole foundation. So digging will be around any termites present I'm sure. Haven't seen mud tubes so maybe they are underneath the slab. Also found Carpenter ants in south wall but another issue and I think they are after the termites.

My question is should I proceed with the foundation work prior to having an exterminator treat the termites? Or exterminate first? Hate to pay to exterminate twice but how will the termites react. Just don't want to mess up an opportunity for killing the colony. Anyone reading from experience.

Any input will be appreciated.
