I live in Virginia in a 20-yr.-old brick ranch located on a 7-acre wooded lot with lots of hardwoods. Hurricanes, storms, lightning, etc., occasionally cause trees to fall down. Should I immediately remove these fallen trees from my property ? I know that every fallen tree is termite food, but just how important is it to get rid of fallen trees ? Does eliminating fallen trees help decrease the number of termites on my property ? And if I let the fallen trees just lie there, does that create more termite colonies ?
