Can't say that I have ever seen a porch poured as part of a slab. I have, however, had porch slabs like yours that were VERY thick. So think I had to bring out my 36 incher. The last one we did (thick front porch slab) we couldn't get through, the owner said not to worry about it. Well, the next year the termites came back, so we drilled it again, this time with a 40 inch bit - it finally broke through at 38 inches. Why was it so thick? Who knows? Maybe the original concrete guy just had a lot of concrete left over....

And the heavier mix of Termidor is legal - it's on the label. And that's the percentage rate they should be using in their foamers.
