Hi John,
Can you please give some guidance on whether, as a method of practical termite prevention, we need to remove the multiple medium size bushes that substantially touch our hardiplank siding? Because the builder planted the backyard bushes so close to the house, there is no way to trim the bushes away from the siding--especially during our hot Virginia summers when they grow back so quickly. In the front, we can trim the bushes one foot from the siding, but they also grow back quickly to touch the siding. Can you please give guidance here and your web page about how landscaping issues contribute to termite problems that you have seen? My husband is really resistant to rip out all of our bushes because I just made him cut down three crepe myrtles overhanging the house to mitigate our squirrel probems (and unfortunately the pesky squirrels are still getting into our attic, but we are trapping them per your advice). Thanks! Lisa
