Neither one cause the crumbling concrete, and you might see the dirt no matter which it is. And since they both live in the ground, it could be either.

And, yes, call him on Monday. Make sure you have that sample.

If it's flying ants, nothing needs to be done, they're harmless. If it's termites, let the exterminator decide what to do, since he's the man on the job. Leave everything as it is until he gets there. No sprays, no nothing. Termite swarmers are also harmless - just an indication you have termites.
