I have an enclosed deck area next to our mobile home where we have the washer , dryer ect. My wife had seen termites swarming out of the gap between the house and the decking boards. Spent a couple of hours last Saturday crawling around under the house with a floodlight looking for mud tubes. No tubes and could find no evidence of damage. Yesterday afternoon, they swarmed again. Went under immediately and found them going up from underground thru a crack in one of the 4 x 4 treated post that supports the deck area. Once to the top of the post, off they flew.
Grabbed my drill and drilled the post with several 1/4" dia. holes. Then flooded the post with a spray. MIstake or ???

My big question is, should I have an exterminator come out and treat? Been here over 25 years. I have made certain the skirted area under the house is well vented and that any wood that is is direct contact with the ground is pressure treated. But the little sneaks still found a way :) Have never had any evidence of termite activity near the house before. Have seen some at the pump house. I was not so careful there with construction and had untreated pine in contact with the ground.
One of my concerns is that the well is about 75 feet away and pumping chemicals into the ground does not seem like a good thing to do.The soil in my area is silica type sand which is typical for south central Texas.

Thanks for your time,
Robert
