Help! I have been a big fan of your website for sometime now. Here's our problem. We recently discovered a water problem in our Rec Room - one of the sections of paneling was warped - we didn't see it immediately because we had a poster hanging in that spot. Anyway, we got two estimates from a waterproofing firm who feel there is a crack outside in the foundation which they can repair. Our Rec Room is underground. I have a handyman I use who is going to take off the paneling section to let it dry out real well and replace it with a new one after the crack is repaired. Anyway, today he came out to take it off and discovered termites underneath. Not the way I wanted to start off my weekend. So we decided to leave the section up so as not to disturb them. We purchased the house (it's 37 years old) in Nov. 2005 and it passed the termite inspection. Would like your advice on how to proceed. I am trying to contact my real estate agent because at one time he had the name of a small company in this area who he felt was very reputable. Also, if you can name anyone in our area, as well, I would greatly appreciate it. For now I am going to have to put the repairs in the foundation on hold until we settle this problem. We live in the Timonium, Maryland area. Many thanks for your help.
