I keep an umbrella on my patio next my grill in the back yard. With the storms we've had the last few weeks here on Monmouth county, I separated the top part of the umbrella off the post and laid it on the ground. When I went to go pick it up, I noticed some little white things on the ground. They looked like dead termites. When I rolled the umbrella over, I could see tons of ants on the umbrella. Many of them carrying away what looked like termites. These ants were all over the umbrella and going to town on what ever these little white things were. I'm not concerned with the ants as much as if these were possible termites so close to the house. The patio in question is concrete and was about 3-4 away from the house. The umbrella was a vinyl material. Should I be concerned about the possibility of the termites so close to the house?
